The District comprises an area of 5294 Sq km with 885 villages having population of 10, 18,171 as per 2001 census. As per the Administration is concerned, the Administrative set up of the District is decentralized into 10 blocks, 10 tahsils, 12 Police Stations and 2 Municipalities. The Administration of the District is controlled by Southern Revenue Division Commissioner. As per the Police Administration of Orissa is Concerned, Nabarangur District functions under DIG of Police, South Western Range, Sunabeda. The District Headquarters is located at Nabarangpur city.
